Day 8 - Bugger all

Today was pretty non eventful in the food department. Well, except for the mutiny.

Remember how I said I decide what to make for dinner and they all just deal with it? Well not today. Kind of. I had decided to try something that I thought would be tasty and healthy and then the trouble started. As each person asked what was for dinner, the looks of horror on their faces made me think there might be trouble afoot. When all of them made the face, it was time for plan B. See, I am all for flexing my mom muscles and making what I want to and that is that, but if I am the only one who is going to eat it, that really isn't very economical, is it?

Harrumph.

So in my "Fine. I won't make that I will make this and you will deal with it" temper tantrum, I made scrambled eggs with cheese and toast. Everyone loved it. Except for me. I have been sick since. Apparently, I forgot about my food sensitivity list that eggs hold the #1 spot and wheat the #2 spot. Oops.

So don't let my stupidity scare you away from one of the cheapest and easiest dinners - Breakfast for dinner! It doesn't have to be a lethal dose of eggs, either. French toast, pancakes, strata... there are all kinds of cheap economical choices that won't break the bank.

Lentils and cabbage. Someone "over there" posted about it and I thought I would try it. I wasn't holing out much faith, but I figured once wouldn't kill us. I am the only one who thought that! LOL

I am still going to try to sneak it in, though. Someday.

We love breakfast for dinner. When they were little the boys always thought it was a treat but it was just me being cheap!

yeah if they won't eat it then it's not economical is it? I love breakfast for dinner--but hubby doesn't (old stick in the mud) LOL-

Normally I would have made it anyway and they would have eaten it with a smile on their faces, but I decided to be nice. See what it got me?! I obviously am not meant to be nice!
